Regulated Services
Regulation is of course at the heart of any network. However, it
is important to distinguish between Compliance and T&C.
Put another way, it is wrong to state that a network provides only
a compliance service. It is, of course, important to ensure that
the processes and procedures relating to both are user friendly.
Ours stem from the experience gained as an IFA company - as mentioned
earlier, Whitechurch's relationship with the Regulator began with
NASDIM, and followed with FIMBRA, PIA and now the FSA.
Details of the services in each area are shown below but the following
are general points relating to our approach.
We allocate a field-based supervisor to each authorised person
within your firm. We see little point in asking that a particular
authorised person is nominated as an 'in house' supervisor and again
the FSA have confirmed that this is their preferred method.
Your supervisor has responsibility for both Compliance and T&C,
so your training and competency plan can be formulated efficiently.
We feel that the relationship you build with your 'compliance supervisor'
is more akin to the relationship you would typically build with
a business development manager.
